From hard working dairy farm to country home décor gift shop

Located right in the heart of historic Blackstone Valley, the Mendon Country Gift Barn tells its own story of hard work and old-fashioned New England hospitality.

Originally built to house cows for a working dairy farm, my wife Judy and I purchased and lovingly renovated the Barn back in 1973. We turned the Barn into a country home décor and furniture showcase and opened its doors to the public for the first time later that year.

Mendon Country Gift Barn quickly became known for its variety of hard-to-find country gifts, plus its wide selection of primitive, traditional, and country Americana décor. As word of mouth spread throughout the region, many new-found friends made the Barn a regular stop during their annual vacations.

We doubled the size of the Barn in 1988 and welcomed our daughter Jill and her husband Bill Krauss into our family business. We even added a delightful Victorian Christmas Barn, where we invite you to handpick your own specialty Christmas ornaments right from our trees anytime after Labor Day.
